Mission: was founded in the early 1980s to provide basic medical and dental care to the rural poor of Honduras. Education is a big part of its mission—from teaching young children the importance of hand washing to training local physicians in surgical techniques. The organization’s annual two-week-long February Project sends ten teams of physicians and dentists to remote areas to work in clinics or hospitals, and to visit villages without facilities.
